Hi friend,
We are excited to invite you to join us on
Tuesday, June 8th at 7:00pm ET for a Teach in/Townhall with multiple organizations in the environmental community (including Sierra Club, Greenpeace, and Environmental Defense Fund) regarding the national assault on our freedom to vote and how the For the People Act, arguably the most consequential people-empowering legislation since the Voting Rights Act of 1965, returns the power back to the voters, where it belongs.
The freedom to vote is sacred and fundamental to our country. In the last few months, we have seen multiple states try to restrict this fundamental right with laws that will make it unnecessarily harder to voter. These state legislatures have sought to erect barriers that silence our voices, especially BIPOC communities, by passing harmful legislation to make it more difficult to vote freely, safely, and equally.
Join us on June 8th to hear from state leaders, including Florida Conservation Voters' own Civic Engagement Director Jalsa Giles, who has been front and center in these fights and learn how you can join the thousands of voices across the country in calling for the passage of the For the People Act, S1. The time is now, with the bill recently announced to be appearing before the Senate the last week of June. Let's stand together for our freedom to vote and our ability to use our voice in our democracy.
