This month is a time to celebrate our identities and uplift our LGBTQ+ community. We’ve made great strides towards equality in recent years, but there’s still work left to be done in the fight against discrimination.
All Americans should be able to live freely as their authentic selves. They should be able to go to school, go to work, or walk around their city or town without fear.
While we may not have reached this goal yet, we’ve come a long way since the first brick was thrown at Stonewall. We all should celebrate this progress.
I look forward to seeing all the joy that this year’s Pride brings and doing my part to uplift our LGBTQ+ community here in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
