On June 2, 2021, Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman and Colorado Senator John Hickenlooper toured three Colorado-based restaurants and met with Restaurant Revitalization Fund recipients to highlight the success of the program. The restaurants included Scrumpy's Hard Cidery Tap Room, Coffee at The Point and El Pueblito Mexican Restaurant which were awarded RRF funds in May 2021. SBA announced its 6th Annual Growth Accelerator Fund Competition with the addition of a new component aimed at spurring investment in underrepresented communities within the innovation economy at scale. The 2021 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Catalyst programs will recognize the nation?s most innovative organizations with inclusive approaches towards supporting entrepreneurs in research and development. Small Disadvantaged Business Contracting Goal News
On June 1, 2021, the centennial of the Tulsa Race Massacre, the Biden-Harris Administration announced new steps to help narrow the racial wealth gap and reinvest in communities that have been left behind by failed policies. Specifically, the Administration is expanding access to two key wealth-creators ? small business ownership and homeownership ? in communities of color and disadvantaged communities.
- Use the federal government?s purchasing power to grow federal contracting with small disadvantaged businesses by 50 percent, translating to an additional $100 billion over five years, and helping more Americans realize their entrepreneurial dreams.
- Take action to address racial discrimination in the housing market, including by launching a first-of-its-kind interagency effort to address inequity in home appraisals, and conducting rulemaking to aggressively combat housing discrimination.

Be Inspired: Small Business Success Story
Craig Samborski, owner of Draw Events, started 2019 with big plans to operate events around the country. The company annually produces the Tall Ships Festival in Duluth, Minnesota and also has the world's largest rubber duck, which travels around the world for festivals and other events.
Just before the pandemic, Samborski had five festivals scheduled, with websites built, tickets sold, advertisements bought, and more.
