Commemorating the 77th Anniversary of D-Day
Tomorrow marks 77 years since more than 150,000 soldiers risked their lives in a daring mission critical to the Allies’ chances of turning the tide of World War II in the D-Day mission at Normandy.
On June 6, 1944, thousands of American troops bravely ran into danger to defeat the Nazi regime and turn the tide to victory. Their efforts were costly, yet yielded great success as only a year later, we secured victory in Europe.
We must never forget the sacrifices of our military heroes who risked everything to protect the freedom we enjoy so dearly today. The veterans who participated in this war deserve all the thanks and recognition our nation can give for their selfless service to our great country, and we are eternally grateful to all those who gave their lives during that critical mission.
Urging Dr. Fauci to Testify Under Oath to Congress Regarding His Emails at the Beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic
On Thursday, I joined Fox Business Network's Mornings with Maria to discuss Dr. Fauci's recently released emails, which contain new evidence regarding the origins of COVID-19, including the possibility it leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan. Click here or on the image below to watch my interview.
Previously, I wrote to Speaker Pelosi and both Democrat chairs of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis (SSOCC) and the Oversight Committee urging them to join House Republicans in investigating the virus's origins.
We must get to the bottom of what Dr. Fauci knew in the early stages of this pandemic. That's why I renewed my call to both SSOCC and Oversight Committee chairs in a letter, writing, "It is now imperative that Dr. Fauci come before our Committees to provide information related to the origins of the novel coronavirus as well as the U.S. government’s role in funding research that may have contributed to the development of the novel coronavirus. The American people have a right to know what our government knew about the origins of the pandemic and when it was known."
Cheering On the LSU Baseball Team in the NCAA Tournament
This weekend, our beloved LSU Baseball Tigers begin their postseason play in the Eugene, Oregon, Regional. Despite last night's loss, I'm confident the Tigers can rally today as they face No. 4 seed Central Connecticut State in an elimination game at 3 p.m. CT.
I'll be rooting hard for Coach Paul Mainieri and the Tigers as they make one final run with Coach Mainieri at the helm of this team. My family has enjoyed watching Coach Mainieri and our Tigers over the past 15 years, including many runs to the College World Series. Enjoy retirement, Coach. Geaux Tigers!
It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information, please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
