Chairman's Update

This is a weekly update from the Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman
Lawrence Tabas filling you in on what our statewide party leaders are up to,
along with relevant news pertaining to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

June 05, 2021

Chairman's Message

Fellow Pennsylvanians,

This week, I want to draw your attention to the actions that rogue
Philadelphia commissioners recently took to try and unilaterally change our
state’s election law. During the May 18th elections, these officials decided to
count all mail ballots without a date, even though the Pennsylvania Supreme
Court has ruled that voters must sign and date envelopes when returning their
mail-in ballots. After pressure from Republicans in the legislature, the rogue
officials backed down and reversed their decision. While they were ultimately
unsuccessful, the actions of these commissioners illustrate the importance of
election security and the need to reform our state’s election laws. The PA GOP
remains committed to securing our elections and ensuring that they are free
from fraud or any other irregularities.

Sincerely,

Lawrence J. Tabas
Chairman, Republican Party of Pennsylvania

after Republicans in the state legislature threatened them with impeachment.
The commissioners faced significant backlash from Republicans and even some
Democrats after they decided to count the undated ballots despite a
Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling that voters must sign and date envelopes when
returning their mail ballots.

CNN: PA Senate Seat Stays as Most Likely To Flip In Latest 2022 Ratings
June 1, 2021 | Politics PA

For the third month in a row, Pennsylvania’s open Senate seat has been ranked
as the most likely seat to flip. But while radical Democrats like John
Fetterman currently enjoy a significant fundraising advantage, Republican
strategists like their chances after the people of Pennsylvania resoundingly
rejected Tom Wolf’s executive overreach at the ballot box. They hope that the
momentum from the May 18th elections will carry over into both the
gubernatorial and Senate race next year.
