I know my team has been emailing you a lot this week about our extended fundraising deadline at midnight tonight.

We wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important. The House majority is hanging on by a thread. With redistricting, Republicans could be at an automatic advantage ahead of the midterms in 2022. To top it off, the national GOP launched digital ads attacking me this week.

The GOP only needs to defeat a few Democrats to take back the House majority – and I am on their target list.

Guided by the basic tenets of responsibility and decency, the Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan, the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, the For the People Act, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, AND the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act. All in the first six months of 2021! Under Republican leadership, none of these bills would have seen the light of day.

We have made major headway in just a few short months – I do not want to see our country move backwards by ceding the House in 2022.
