This week, John, America’s gun violence epidemic inflicted mass carnage in states across the country:

Yet again, we witnessed entire communities devastated by acts of gun violence, including high-profile mass shootings, domestic violence, urban community violence, and so much more. Congress is simply not acting quickly enough — even as gun violence shows no sign of slowing in the summer months ahead.

It’s why Brady is working tirelessly on the state level right now. And we’re ushering in major wins to keep our communities safe.

Celebrate Gun Violence Awareness Month with Brady!

[link removed] [[link removed]]June kicks off Gun Violence Awareness Month! With an epidemic like gun violence, there's much to understand — like the many different forms, why it continues, the people we’ve lost, and those fighting against it. In recognition of this month, we’re committed to educating you about gun violence in America while uplifting the incredible — and sometimes devastating — stories of survivors, activists, and more.
This week, we remember and honor 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton [[link removed]] , who should have celebrated her 24th birthday on Wednesday. But eight years ago, and less than a week after performing at President Obama's second inauguration, she was shot and killed outside of her school. The #WearOrange movement against gun violence was started by Hadiya’s friends and family. Throughout June, we #WearOrange in recognition of Hadiya and the more than 100 people who are killed with guns every day in America. Please join us in recognizing Hadiya and Gun Violence Awareness Month.

[[link removed]]ICYMI: Learn More About Our Jaw-Dropping Exposé on the ATF

[link removed] [[link removed]]Last week, USA Today published our years-long collaboration [[link removed]] on the shocking, lethal failures of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in overseeing the gun industry and stopping the flow of illegal firearms.

We revealed that even when reckless gun dealers knowingly break the law, they’re allowed to stay in business — which means they continue to flood our streets and neighborhoods with trafficked guns and fuel our nation’s gun violence epidemic. Watch our video and listen to our new podcast episode for an exclusive, deeper dive into what we found through our investigation.

Notoriety and infamy is a common motivating factor for those who commit mass casualties. In an effort to reduce future tragedies and protect public safety, the survivor-led No Notoriety [[link removed]] campaign challenges the media to not identify the shooter when reporting on tragedies like mass shootings.
This week, we’re joined by the founder of No Notoriety, Tom Teves, as he shares how his campaign came to be, why it’s so important, and how we can all minimize harm while talking about high-profile mass shootings.
