With so much discussion surrounding the recent elections and voting legislation in Texas, we wanted to help No Labels members understand how this bill compares to the current laws in place in Texas and other states.

Our team pulled together the Smart Chart below which we encourage you to read and share with anyone in your network whom you think would want to take a look. This analysis is just one of many that No Labels will be crafting for our members in the weeks and months to come in an effort to provide our members with the facts and insights they can't get anywhere else on the most important issues facing America.

No Labels Smart Chart: Police Reform
By No Labels

We’ve been hearing for weeks that a bipartisan group of negotiators are “close” on police reform. But how close? And what’s preventing them from getting over the finish line? To answer these questions, No Labels wanted to share with you the latest in our Smart Chart series, in which we did side-by-side comparisons of the Democratic and Republican positions on key policing issues...

Yes, it's still the economy, stupid.

More evidence of the political downside of the president’s agenda comes from a HarrisX poll of 10 swing Democratic congressional districts conducted May 18-23 for No Labels, a group that promotes bipartisanship and is chaired by Gov. Biden’s Slow-Growth Budget Gamble
By William A. Galston

The bottom line: The economy will stay stuck at 2% growth, extending the period of slow growth that began early in the 21st century. Even during the first three years of the Trump administration, large spending increases and an enormous tax cut yielded growth averaging 2.5%, well below the 3.5% level of the 1990s. Does this mean that government is powerless to influence economic growth? Not exactly.

Congressional negotiators make progress on policing overhaul compromise

"Conversations are still ongoing, and staffers are working toward drafting language, but they appear to be nearing agreement on several fronts — banning the use of chokeholds by police officers except in life-threatening situations, setting federal standards for no-knock warrants and limiting the transfer of military equipment to local police departments. 'We've made progress,' a staffer familiar with the talks told CBS News, 'but nothing is agreed to until everything is agreed to.'"

Help us cheer on Senator Capito and President Biden for their efforts to reach across the aisle in these negotiations. Click here to leave a note for them on Facebook telling them both to #StayAtIt and #GetItDone by saying: "Senator Capito and President Biden, please stay at the table and continue to work towards a two-party solution for infrastructure
