Dear
Friend
--
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a serious health challenge, but it’s
also brought with it, economic impacts that have made it difficult for
many to make ends meet. That is why, earlier this year, we launched
our Emergency Rental Assistance Program — and when additional funds
were made available, we extended the application period so that more
folks could apply for the help. $56 million has been made available
for rent and utilities assistance through this program.
If you or someone you know needs help paying rent, there’s still
one more week left to apply for our Emergency Rental Assistance
Program. To be eligible, tenants must rent in Long Beach and meet
the following criteria:
- The household has a combined income at or below 80% of the area’s
median income.
- One or more individuals within the household has experienced a
financial hardship due, directly or indirectly, to the COVID-19
pandemic; and
- One or more individuals within the household can demonstrate a
risk of experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
The deadline to submit an application is June 11. If you received
an email reminding you to complete your application, or have questions
about the status of your application, please call 833-358-5372. To
learn more about the program and various income and eligibility
guidelines, including for property owners — or submit an application
for assistance — please visit longbeach.gov/erap.
Thank you and Go Long Beach,
Mayor Robert Garcia
