Team, this is HUGE: Nevada Democrats’ public health insurance bill is headed to Gov. Sisolak’s desk!

This proposal would offer a public, entirely optional health care plan to all Nevadans -- and if signed, Nevada will be one of the first states to pass this landmark legislation.

The goal is to provide affordable, good-quality coverage to those who either can’t afford private health insurance plans, or who don’t qualify because of things like preexisting conditions.

If we’ve learned one thing from this past year it’s that we desperately need to improve our health insurance and health care systems.

We are thrilled that our leaders here in Nevada are taking this issue seriously — and this proposal is a MAJOR step toward ensuring health care access for all Nevadans.
