From introducing legislation making vaccine passports illegal to cosponsoring legislation prohibiting federally funded abortions, we’ve had an important week in Congress that clearly proved where the freedom fighters in Washington stand. While additional issues of importance have been addressed, here is our week in review:
MAKE VACCINE PASSPORTS ILLEGAL
REP. GAETZ INTRODUCES BILL TO BAN VACCINE PASSPORTS
On Wednesday, I introduced H.R. 3660, the Digital Health Pass Prevention Act (DHPPA), to ensure that not a single cent of U.S. taxpayer money goes to the development or the implementation of Vaccine Passports. Currently, Big Tech companies, such as IBM, have developed software to create “Digital Health Passes,” which will be used to restrict people from traveling and other activities if they are not vaccinated. The implementation of Vaccine Passports or Digital Health Passes is an infringement on our personal health decisions and our freedom of movement in the United States. I will not stand by and watch as a mask mandate is replaced by a vaccine mandate. The word ‘mandate,’ should appear sparingly in the vocabulary of American government officials, especially when one’s health decisions are at stake.

UPPER CHAMBER: SENATOR TED CRUZ INTRODUCES BILL AGAINST VACCINE PASSPORTS
Sen. Cruz also introduced a bill this week to push back on “proof of vaccination.” His bill aims to prevent the federal government from establishing COVID-19 passports or working with third parties to establish their own vaccine passports, such as airlines or other global entities. This bill imposes a five-year prohibition on any government vaccine mandate for vaccines first authorized by the FDA through an Emergency Use Authorization. I am glad to see that my Republican colleagues in the Senate are standing up to government control, government mandates, and unjust attacks on American freedom and individual liberty. It is time for us to move past this dystopian Wuhan Virus world, remove our masks, and enjoy the world around us!

Dr. Anthony Fauci has done immeasurable damage to our country by advocating for the agenda of lockdown lobbyists and not the American people. The recently exposed #FauciEmails prove he knew of gain of function research at the Wuhan lab, was alerted to the possibility of a lab leak, and worked to cover up the connections between both those who funded coronavirus experiments and spun falsehoods to distract from the lab leak theory. I joined Real America with Dan Ball on OAN yesterday night to explain why it’s time to fire Fauci.
REP. GAETZ COSPONSORS THE FIRE FAUCI ACT
In 2020, Dr. Anthony Fauci earned $434,312, making him the highest paid federal employee INCLUDING Presidents Trump and Biden. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (GA-14) introduced H.R. 2316, the Fire Fauci Act, which would lower this National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director’s salary to $0, until a replacement is found. Dr. Fauci has flip-flopped on mask wearing, ignored credible alerts to a potential leak of COVID-19 at the Wuhan lab, and remains weary of successful private sector solutions to any problem. If it weren’t for President Trump’s Operation Warp Speed and the collaboration of private sector firms like Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, and others, there would be no vaccine! The private sector and free market capitalism have propelled vaccine research & development far beyond what any government believed was possible. It is time to #FireFauci.

REP. GAETZ COSPONSORS BILL TO PREVENT TAXPAYER FUNDING FOR ABORTION
This week, I cosponsored H.R. 18, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act. Abortion is not healthcare and its costs are certainly not to be the responsibility of taxpayers.
The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act will ensure that taxpayer dollars are not spent on abortion. This legislation would replace the current patchwork of annually renewed appropriations amendments, known as the Hyde amendment, with one all-encompassing permanent federal law. Pro-life lawmakers have been working to pass this commonsense measure for years. The House of Representatives passed the bill in 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2017, and a majority of Senators voted for it in 2019.
In his Inaugural Address, President Biden spoke of the need for unity among Americans. We agree that unity at this time is certainly needed, particularly in light of the divided political climate. And, while the country may be divided on the question of abortion, a significant majority of Americans do agree that the federal government should not use taxpayer dollars to subsidize abortion. It is time for Congress to finally pass this life-saving bill

REP. GAETZ JOINS COLLEAGUES TO REMIND SEC. DEFENSE OF NATIONAL GUARD UNDERREPRESENTATION
None of us are surprised that the state of Florida is among the most rapidly growing in our beautiful country. Why wouldn’t it be? It’s paradise! However, our population growth has not kept pace with our Florida National Guard’s authorized personnel, placing inordinate strain on those who serve and on their families. That is why I sent a letter, along with dozens of other Members, to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin making the case for a more optimal distribution of resources.

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY AT BARRANCAS NATIONAL CEMETERY
On Monday, Barrancas National Cemetery held a Memorial Day ceremony to honor the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in serving our country. Local veterans organizations participated in the ceremony and Capt. Tim Kinsella, commanding officer of NAS Pensacola, gave remarks. Memorial Day is an important day to remember, acknowledge, and honor our fallen heroes, and I hope that you all were able to exercise your patriotic spirit on that day.
FLORIDA’S CRUISE INDUSTRY THREATENS TO DISCRIMINATE AGAINST THE UNVACCINATED
Us Floridians are fortunate enough to have a governor who stands in support of individual liberties. By challenging the federal restriction that all cruise passengers must be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination, Gov. DeSantis bravely declared that, "In Florida, your personal choice regarding vaccinations will be protected, and no business or government entity will be able to deny you services based on your decision.”

GOV. DESANTIS ENSURES THAT SPORTS WILL REMAIN FAIR
This week, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Fairness in Women's Sports Act, which will make sure that Floridians play in competitive sporting events the way we always have. DeSantis summarized the bill in plain English: “In Florida, girls are going to play girls sports and boys are going to play boys sports.” I am proud that the Sunshine State has a governor who is not afraid and will not cower to insane leftist demands.
