In March, I voted in favor of the For the People Act, which would introduce sweeping democratic reforms to our voting systems. This historic bill aims to fight corruption and protect the right to vote across the nation -- and it passed in the House with support from both sides of the aisle.

Now, the For the People Act is stalling in the Senate. Republicans are intentionally trying to slow and derail the momentum of this legislation even though the bill is widely supported by the American people:

Voting rights can’t wait any longer. We NEED to pass this historic legislation -- will you sign this petition to tell Congress you want the For the People Act passed?

Here are some of the things the For the People Act includes:

• Expanded automatic voter registration and same day voter registration
• Expanded mail-in voting and early voting
• Prevention of voter intimidation and voter suppression
• Secure elections free from foreign interference

Our democracy only works when everyone can participate. The For the People Act ensures that underrepresented groups have an equal say in our democracy.

Every American deserves access to the ballot box.

The For the People Act would enact sweeping voting reforms to ensure free and fair elections and lay the groundwork for my bill, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Act.

Folks, we need to keep pushing for this historic legislation. Fighting for a cause like this requires all hands on deck -- I need to know that I have your full support moving forward. I’m asking you personally: will you add your name and let Congress know the For the People Act MUST be passed?
