Friend,
There is no shortage of issues facing working families across the United States — from stagnant wages to the rising costs of healthcare to the relentless attacks on our collective bargaining rights.
We need a better way — a more personal way — to communicate the stories of working people. That’s why EPI is launching an innovative podcast to bring these personal accounts into the national policy debate. Next week EPI is launching The State of Working America Podcast.
We wanted to give you an early heads up about this great new source of content and information. Click here to watch my video introduction to the podcast—and take a moment to subscribe ([link removed])

The show, which launches one week from today, is a new way for EPI to share the stories of working people and explain the research our team does to help fight for a progressive policy agenda that lifts workers’ wages, protects our rights and ensures working families throughout the United States have a fair shot at a good-paying job.
Our podcast will feature a range of guests—from economic thought leaders to workers on the factory floor.
Here are our featured guests for the first few podcasts:

Our first episode focuses on the role of race in the American economy and features an interview with Valerie Wilson, director of EPI’s Program on Race, Ethnicity and the Economy; our second podcast features Chris Lu, President Barack Obama’s deputy secretary of labor; and our third episode features Mickey Ray Williams, a Firestone tire plant worker, who also serves as president of USW Local 12 in Gadsden, Alabama and Robert Scott, EPI’s senior economist and director of trade policy.
The State of Working America Podcast will give a voice to workers, and place their struggles in a larger policy context. The 30-minute podcasts will address a wide range of issues, including: wage stagnation, inequality, worker power, racism, trade and education.
EPI is working overtime to ensure all working people can achieve the promise of a good-paying job that allows each of us to support ourselves and our family.
