John,
Today is National Gun Violence Awareness Day, and I am wearing orange to recognize the victims and survivors of gun violence.
We can’t stand by and mourn the lives lost to gun violence and do nothing to prevent further loss.
Just last week nine people lost their lives in San Jose. Last month in my home county, two people were killed at the local Oneida Nation casino.
The time for only thoughts and prayers is over.
We need common sense gun reform. When I am elected Senator, I will work to pass legislation that will do just that instead of letting the NRA continue to block progress.
On National Gun Violence Awareness Day, I ask you to stand with me, wear orange, and recognize that we need to do more to prevent gun violence.
Thank you,
Tom Nelson
