Earlier this week, New Mexico held a special election to fill Secretary Haaland’s vacant congressional seat – and our fantastic Democratic candidate, Melanie Stansbury, won in a landslide! Political analysts were watching this race as an early indicator for the midterms – and Tuesday’s result showed that President Biden’s agenda is incredibly popular with voters, while Marjorie Taylor Greene and the GOP’s far-right conspiracies and division are not.

My organization, Blue Momentum PAC, was proud to be involved in this race and support Melanie, and we’re just getting started. We have big plans to support Democratic candidates in some of the toughest congressional races in the country. Melanie’s victory will grow our Democratic House majority from 8 seats to 9 – but in a body of 435 voting members, the margins are still super close. We can’t take any seat for granted. Tuesday’s victory proved that when we work hard and fully fund our Democratic candidates, we can win. However, we know that the GOP will raise massive sums of money in their fight for the majority.
