President Biden set a Memorial Day deadline to pass the American Jobs Plan, his infrastructure and climate bill.

Monday's deadline has come and gone. Why? Because Senate Republicans intentionally ran down the clock, putting forth unserious, unacceptable counterproposals that completely ignore the need for bold climate action.

Any infrastructure plan that doesn't invest in clean energy or environmental justice is unacceptable. Any infrastructure plan that increases pollution is unacceptable. After years of delays and denials, we need massive investments to start on a path to a clean energy future, deliver on President Biden's environmental justice commitments, and create millions of good union jobs. That's what the American Jobs Plan does, and that's why it needed to be passed by President Biden's deadline earlier this week.

Republicans have shown they're not serious about passing a bold, comprehensive infrastructure and climate bill, so Democrats should go it alone. Tell them it's time: Sign on right now to urge President Biden and Senate Democrats to work together to pass the American Jobs Plan.

At a time when the need for climate action is clearer than ever, the GOP's chump change infrastructure proposals would actually increase pollution and double down on fossil fuel industry handouts.

That's not what the American people want. Democrats won the White House and Senate because they promised to take real action to address the most important challenges we face, and the American Jobs Plan was built to do exactly that. If they don't deliver now, there's a real chance we'll lose our shot at progress.

Passing the American Jobs Plan without Republican support (through a process called budget reconciliation) would jumpstart the clean energy economy and increase the chance that Democrats can hold power (and pass even more progressive plans).
