For decades, the GOP has been building its organizing power by making deep and sustained investments in local political infrastructure all across the country. And it’s paying off. Since 1993 the number of states where Republicans control the Governor’s Office and both chambers of the legislature has jumped from three… to 26. From redistricting to state legislative power to federal judiciaries, Democrats are playing defense across the map.
