‌ ‌Friends, we just heard the news that Facebook will likely reinstate Trump back onto their platform after a two year suspension.

By choosing to reinstate Trump, Facebook is putting profits ahead of our democracy. In the months since the January 6 insurrection, Facebook has made no meaningful design changes to their platform, and Trump has continued to spew dangerous election lies, COVID misinformation, and QAnon conspiracy theories. Facebook cannot reinstate his account in two years. They must ban Trump forever.

The fight ahead will be tough. We’re going to need all the support we can get to take on rampant disinformation and extremism online.
