Voters across America delivered Democrats the House, Senate, and White House. Now, Democrats need to pass our legislative agenda without the right-wing GOP. Yet, President Biden and some Democrats are giving Republicans power.
First, President Biden is wasting valuable time by negotiating with Republicans on a critical infrastructure package even after every single one of them voted AGAINST survival checks and the American Rescue Plan. Then, two Democratic Senators — Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema — said they don’t want to pass a historic voting rights bill without Republican support even as Republicans suppress the vote in states across America. If we’re going to pass urgent, necessary, and popular legislation to expand voting rights, protect our elections, invest in critical infrastructure spending, expand Medicare, guarantee child care and paid leave, and take bold action on climate change, Democrats must move forward immediately, end the filibuster, and pass these critical measures WITHOUT Republicans.
We need to move past endless negotiations with Republican obstructionists and pass our legislative agenda for the people. These bills are just too important to wait another moment.
