Each May, we used to gather for our Green Tie Awards, to honor environmental champions who have stepped up to protect every North Carolinian's right to clean air, clean water, and clean energy.

Last year, because of the pandemic, we held our first ever virtual Green Tie in October. Well, this year, we're sticking with October ... but we'll be back in person!

In recent years, our keynote speakers have included Sen. Cory Booker, Gov. Roy Cooper, former Maryland Congresswoman Donna Edwards, and First Lady Kristin Cooper. We have given awards to Deb Butler, Josh Stein, Erica Smith, Jeff Jackson, Brian Turner, Jay Chaudhuri, Robert Reives, Pricey Harrison, and other star legislators.
