Expanding access to abortion and contraception is challenging work—and success often requires deep local knowledge and an extensive network of local stakeholders. That’s why community-based organizations are often best positioned to make change.
Around the world, community-based groups are working diligently to expand sexual and reproductive rights, increase people’s access to services like abortion and contraception, and educate communities about reproductive health. Ipas has long partnered with—and provided financial support to—local groups. Now we’re launching a formal grantmaking program, unique in the abortion rights field because it’s based in the Global South. Through this program we plan to support even more local organizations, allowing them to determine the best strategies for success in their communities.
Join us to hear from three community-based organizations—in Argentina, Uganda and Indonesia—that have partnered with Ipas to make change. Speakers will share their organizations’ unique approaches to expanding abortion access, the impact they’ve seen locally, and the challenges they face.
