The Actors Fund

Dear Actors Fund Friends,

Mark your calendars for next Tuesday: The Actors Fund is turning 139! To commemorate the special day on June 8, we’re celebrating with our annual Giving Day. Since 1882, the generosity of our Actors Fund community has made it possible for us to provide a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals all over the country. This past year especially, we’ve been able to help more people than ever before in our almost 140-year history.

We’ve distributed more than $21.5 million to more than 16,300 people, and have helped more than 40,000 people with our services addressing heath care and health insurance, affordable housing, financial wellness, career guidance, mental health, support groups and beyond. Thank you for your unwavering support that has made all of our work possible.

And we’d love for you to join the celebrations on June 8!

You can visit actorsfund.org/GivingDay2021 to make a donation.

You can start an Actors Fund Birthday Facebook Fundraiser and help spread the word about our work, and include your friends to celebrate, too!

You can shop via Amazon Smile. If you shop on Amazon, you can simply go to Smile.Amazon.com, select The Actors Fund as your charity of choice, and Amazon will donate 0.5% of eligible purchases—with no fees or extra cost to you.

You can host a JustGiving Fundraiser if you want to invite a larger audience to tune in to your special event or support us via any fundraising efforts you’re leading.

We’re excited to fill your weeks ahead with joy, drama, music and laughs. Thank you for being a part of our Actors Fund community!

Club Cumming On The Coast

Award-winning actor, singer, producer, author and philanthropist Alan Cumming is partnering with the Kennebunkport Resort Collection to bring his iconic, namesake New York City nightlife venture, Club Cumming, to Kennebunkport, Maine for a 15-week summer residency. Club Cumming on the Coast will make its debut at the historic Kennebunkport Inn, in the heart of downtown Kennebunkport's Dock Square, now through Labor Day Weekend. The boutique hotel's outdoor Sun Deck will be reimagined as a coastal New England version of the intimate and eclectic cabaret bar and lounge, serving up live entertainment, cocktails and dinner for guests and locals, alike.

This seasonal outpost will feature a rotating roster of talent, personally curated by Cumming and his team, who will perform Friday and Saturday evenings on a replica of the East Village venue's "postage stamp-sized" stage. Entertainment will range from theater-world stars to piano-bar show tunes, drag performances to jazz acts, and more. In addition to bringing world-class entertainers to Maine's storied summer colony, Club Cumming on the Coast has partnered with The Actors Fund, to support the national human service organization's ongoing effort to support arts professionals who have been especially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
