John --
Nebraska landowners who sued Costco won a victory in court last week, when a Lancaster County judge rejected the corporation's permit to operate a gigantic new chicken factory (CAFO) within close distance of the town of Raymond's schools.
Lancaster District Judge Jodi Nelson on May 28 denied the special zoning permit required for Costco to build the proposed 8-barn, 380,000-chicken facility in an agricultural area near the community of Raymond's schools and the growing residential developments that surround them. The order stated the poultry barns would "more likely than not have negative effects on health, safety, and general welfare." [1]
Bold Nebraska is pitching in to support the landowners who sued Costco, and the successful lawsuit brought by Omaha-based Domina Law Group -- the firm also still representing landowners in court who have been fighting TransCanada's (aka TC Energy) eminent domain for the Keystone XL pipeline for over a decade.

The main concern of RC Communities United and the local community is the safety and well-being of the students, staff, and families at Raymond Central. [2]
Bold is standing with the families in Raymond fighting this expansion of factory farming in Nebraska, and matching donations to them right now up to $5,000, to help cover their legal costs.
