Dear John,

We just launched our campaign to replace Chuck Grassley as Iowa’s U.S. Senator and the response has been overwhelming.

If we haven’t been introduced, I’m Dave Muhlbauer – I’m a farmer from Western Iowa. My wife Linda is a librarian in Manning and my kids Chas, Ava, and Roslyn attend school in Crawford County.

My grandpa Louis was a farmer, a county supervisor and a State Representative, so was my dad. I served as county supervisor, and now I’m running to get Chuck Grassley out of office.

It’s time for a new generation of Iowans to take the reins and lead our state into the future. Our healthcare system is failing, our education system ranks near the bottom in the country, our roads, bridges, and other infrastructure are crumbling, and our immigration system is a global disgrace. If we want to build back, then we must:
  • Treat healthcare as a human right so folks don’t have to decide between treatments and bankruptcy – including and especially mental health.
  • Guarantee our teachers and support staff the resources they need to educate the next generation of Iowans.
  • Pass a comprehensive infrastructure bill and put Iowans back to work.
  • Cut through the rhetoric and give hard-working immigrants the means to live and work with dignity and with legal documentation.
I grew up around campaigns. I started canvassing door-to-door with my Grandpa Louis when I was 6 years old. While I might have missed out on Saturday morning cartoons more than I liked, I learned what it takes to win. I’m not going to kid myself; this is going to be a battle. If we’re going to succeed, I need your help. If you can chip in a few bucks to help us start organizing voters, it will go a long way – and we have to start early. I thank you for taking the time to get to know me and I hope to meet you on the campaign trail.

Sincerely,

Dave Muhlbauer
