Amazon Ends Drug Testing Employees; Begins Lobbying on Marijuana Legalization
|
|
In a surprising move, the largest company in the world, Amazon, has announced it will end the practice of testing its employees for marijuana use.
The move is doubly surprising, as it comes just days after the release of data from Quest Diagnostics finding that drug positivity in the workforce continues to reach record highs.
The data also showed that states such as Nevada and Oregon, which allow marijuana to be sold at retail stores, have seen triple-digit increases in workplace positivity since the beginning of legalization.
Furthermore, Amazon also announced it would begin actively lobbying on the federal level in support of marijuana legalization.

Hear Dr. Sabet and Sarah discuss what the labs that service the marijuana industry are actually testing for and the first signs Sarah saw that really began to make her raise her eyebrows in regards to the marijuana industry and lab testing.
Even a pro-legal pot supporter such as Sarah can’t help but reach the conclusion that what is unfolding in Colorado is a concern for citizens living in that state. But she adds that it also “should be extremely alarming to anyone who doesn’t live here.”
