Friend,
The General Assembly adjourned only 7 weeks ago, and Governor Hogan is already undermining the hard work of the legislature.
In just the last week, Hogan has vetoed 23 bills that would have addressed serious needs across Maryland such as the Transit Safety and Investment Act, protections for immigrant communities, requirements for equitable vaccine distribution, oversight of emergency government purchases, union protections, parole reform, and decriminalization of drug paraphernalia, just to name a few. These were important progressive bills that he vetoed in order to cater to his far-right base.
Many of these bills were Strong Future Maryland priorities, and you better believe we’ll be working hard alongside Democratic leadership, community advocates, and other organizations to overturn these vetoes as soon as possible. But we have a lot of work ahead of us, and need your help to do it. Would you support us with a contribution?

And if those vetoes weren’t enough, Hogan also joined his fellow Republican governors and ended extended federal unemployment benefits. This program would have cost the state nothing and he ended it for purely partisan reasons. It’s a decision that will have real consequences for 6.2% of Marylanders who are still unemployed.
We can’t stop organizing to build progressive power in Maryland. The stakes are too high for so many Marylanders. We need your support to build the prosperous, equitable future our state needs. Will you help power our work with a contribution today?
