Happy Pride Month! This week, Maura spoke with CBS News about what Pride means to her and the challenges that the LGBTQ community is still facing. She also delivered a message directly to LGBTQ youth: stay strong and believe in yourself.

Pride Month is a particularly exciting time for Team Healey as we celebrate the beauty and diversity of the LGBTQ community, acknowledge how far we have come on protecting and expanding LGBTQ rights, and recommit ourselves to continuing our work to break down the many barriers that still exist.

 

And of course, we’re always excited for the opportunity to celebrate Maura, who made history as the first openly gay Attorney General in the country and has been a leading advocate for the LGBTQ community throughout her entire career. From leading the charge against the Defense of Marriage Act, to championing marriage equality and non-discrimination protections in Massachusetts, to suing the Trump administration for undermining protections for transgender individuals, Maura has been and always will be there for the LGBTQ community each step of the way.
