POLITICO: “Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto has twice made history for Democrats: She steered her party's campaign arm as Democrats narrowly won the majority last year, and she is the first and only Latina in the Senate.”
Now, the GOP is picking her replacement for 2022.
Why? Cortez Masto is vulnerable -- she defeated her Republican opponent by just 2 points in 2016, and flipping her seat is Mitch McConnell's best chance to take back the Senate.
Trump's senior adviser has already said that Adam Laxalt would be a “strong America-First candidate” to replace Cortez Masto. And Laxalt is counting on support from his dear friend, Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton -- the man who once claimed slavery was a “necessary evil” and is now leading the GOP's war against critical race theory.
We can't afford to let the GOP flip even one seat this cycle, John -- especially not that of the only Latina serving in the Senate. Sen. Cortez Masto has spent her term advocating for working families and equity in government. She deserves better than to be replaced by a racist Trump puppet.
