From Marlboro’s “Mild as May” campaign in the 1920s to Virginia Slims’ infamous “You’ve come a long way, baby” slogan in the 1960s, to Juul leveraging influencer marketing and social media to make vaping “go viral” among youth, the tobacco industry has been targeting women and girls for a century. The tobacco industry is as sophisticated and aggressive as ever today. Nearly 1 in 5 high school girls currently use e-cigarettes. The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is fighting hard at the local, state and federal levels to stop the tobacco industry’s predatory marketing of dangerous and deadly products designed to addict. We’re making progress, but there is still a long fight ahead. And we cannot do this without you. Help us protect the health of women and girls with a monthly sustaining gift >> A century’s worth of damage cannot be undone overnight. Your monthly support will ensure we can continue to fight back.
