Joe Biden just called out Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema for their inaction on voting rights and filibuster reform.
Across the country, GOP legislatures and leaders have been waging an all out assault on our democracy. Not only have they made it harder for people -- particularly people of color -- to vote, but they've also granted themselves the authority to overturn elections and keep themselves in power.
Like the rest of us, President Biden is fed up. He knows that now is the time for action on Capitol Hill to pass voting rights reforms, but the only way we will do that is through abolishing the Senate's Jim Crow Era filibuster. Joe Manchin is dreaming if he thinks Mitch McConnell and the rest of the Senate GOP have any interest in allowing the Democrats to pass any meaningful legislation on voting rights or any other issue. That's why we're sending Joe Manchin a wake up call.
