We have seen the impact of having strong, qualified leaders like Reps. André Carson, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib in office. It is why last month, Emgage PAC proudly stood behind a number of rising star candidates: Abdullah Hammoud for Mayor of Dearborn, Sam Rasoul for Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, and Basheer Jones for Mayor of Cleveland. But we are not done yet.

Tahanie Aboushi is running to be the first Muslim American and Palestinian district attorney in New York City history. Born to Palestinian immigrants, Tahanie is an outspoken and highly regarded progressive lawyer that is committed to upholding justice and equality. She has advocated against racist police practices, represented children traumatized by bullying and harassment, and has stood up for rape victims whose integrity was being questioned. But more than anything, Tahanie stands apart because her bid for district attorney is personal; her father was sentenced to 22 years in prison when she was just 14 years old. We know that she will be a district attorney that Manhattan can count on and Muslim Americans can be proud of.

Our New York Metro chapter is mobilizing Muslim American voters to ensure strong turnout, but Tahanie's campaign is in dire need of funds to finish the final three weeks of her primary campaign strong. That's why Emgage PAC is proud to partner with American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) and YAMA Action for this fundraiser in support of her historic campaign.
