Like I often say, your contributions really do make a difference. This grassroots team stepped up in a big way last month, and together, we reached our May fundraising goal.
I also want to take a moment to update you on my efforts to get to the bottom of the Postal Service’s mail delivery issues.
Baltimore Sun: “Baltimore County’s post office problems include shoeboxes full of backlogged mail, perishables eaten by rodents”
CALL FOR POSTMASTER GENERAL LOUIS DEJOY’S RESIGNATION >>
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s policy changes at the Postal Service have exacerbated staff shortages, and now, postal workers are overworked and backlogged mail is filling up Post Office hallways. In some locations, perishable packages have even gone bad and attracted rodents and insects. And I’ve been receiving hundreds of mail complaints from constituents every week about missing mail.
This can’t continue. I’m calling for an audit of Baltimore-area Post Offices and a meeting with senior USPS leadership to demand answers.
Marylanders in my district deserve dependable mail service just like Marylanders in the rest of the state and Americans in the rest of the country, and I won’t let up until mail services are restored in full.
Your friend,
Dutch
