Last week, the New Deal for Youth Changemakers hosted “A New Deal for Youth: Our Vision. Our Demands. Why We Can't Wait,” where they unveiled their policy platform and demands. The New Deal for Youth initiative is a youth-led collaboration between Changemakers, CLASP, partners, and allies. The Changemakers’ demands addressed the urgent challenges young people are facing due to COVID-19, the economic downturn, and structural racism. With more than 800 people tuned in to the event, participants engaged in guided meditation, a dance break, a panel discussion, and inspirational words from Changemakers and U.S. Representatives Ayanna Pressley (MA-01) and Chuy Garcia (IL-04) who expressed their commitment to young people. If you missed the event, you can still sign up for updates from New Deal for Youth here.
