John,
Happy Pride Month! I'm incredibly excited to share our second federal endorsement for the 2022 cycle: Daniel Hernández for the U.S. Congress! I just spoke with Daniel on Facebook Live for an update on his historic run (he'd be just the second Latinx out LGBTQ person to serve in the U.S. Congress). Click here to watch our full conversation!
As you'll hear us mention, this race is gearing up to be one of the most expensive in the country. While the field isn't set just yet, we know that anti-equality forces are rallying to flip this seat. Will you rush a joint donation to support Daniel's campaign and Victory Fund's work today?
Daniel has deep ties to Arizona's Second Congressional District. He volunteered with and managed several local campaigns before campaigning with then Congresswoman Gabby Giffords in 2011, when a gunman tried to take her life. Upon hearing gunfire, Daniel dropped everything and ran towards the sounds. He not only witnessed the horrific event, but took swift action that saved the Congresswoman's life.
This terrible tragedy showcases what type of person Daniel is. He is a helper: someone who run towards trouble and finds solutions in tough moments. He not only knows firsthand the immigrant experience and the devastation of gun violence, but the poisonous impact of anti-LGBTQ politics. He will fight every day to ensure good policies that will improve LGBTQ lives remain central to political discussions in Washington, much as he has in the state legislature.
Arizonans need to elect the next generation of leaders who can guide America into the future – and Daniel is a person worthy of that responsibility. And we can help him win - make a split donation to boost Daniel's campaign and support Victory Fund's work today.
Let's get to work,
Mayor Annise Parker
