Rand Paul exemplifies all the worst parts of today's radical Republican Party.
+ He consistently votes for cuts to vital government services like Medicaid and Social Security, even though he voted for the Trump tax cut that added over $1 trillion to the deficit
+ He blocked legislation that would have made lynching a federal hate crime
+ He announced he would vote to throw out Trump's second impeachment trial before it even began, despite being in the building on January 6 when insurrectionists stormed the Capitol
Paul's opponent, Charles Booker, is exactly the kind of progressive we need in DC to build America back in a post-COVID world and to address the challenges facing our country. Booker is a champion for racial, environmental, and economic justice who is focused on bringing progressive priorities like affordable health care and a Green New Deal to Washington.
Booker already has the support of some of the top progressive leaders in the Democratic Party. Cori Bush tweeted her support, and Bernie Sanders appeared at a rally in Louisville with him, where Sanders said, “Boy, do we need progressive voices like Charles' in the U.S. Senate.”
