Important Dates in June
June is Pride Month! Pride Month celebrates and recognizes the impact that members of the LGBTQIA+ community have made through different moments of history. Keep your eye out for flag raisings in your communities, and help honor this celebration by joining one of the events below:
Juneteenth also takes place this month, on Saturday, June 19th.
Also known as Freedom Day, this solemn holiday commemorates the end of slavery in the United States.
From 2-3pm ET, PEACE Randolph will be holding a Juneteenth celebration at Brundage Park Pavilion. The program features a brief history, liturgical dancers, poems, and other readings. It is free, and open to the public.
Stay tuned for information on additional Pride and Juneteenth events.
Young Dem Spotlight
In honor of Pride Month, we’d like to spotlight County Commissioner candidate and MCYD Outreach Coordinator T.C. McCourt!
T.C. is a passionate public servant running to expand Morris County’s sustainable energy initiative, create an equitable and fair environment for all of the county’s diverse residents, and lay the foundation so that Morris County can support the jobs of the future.
He currently lives in Dover with his husband Bryan.
If elected, T.C. would become Morris County’s first openly gay Commissioner.
