The filibuster is the only thing standing in the way of our Democratic majority and sweeping progressive legislation necessary to improve the quality of life for so many Americans. Joe Manchin promised Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell that he is opposed to ending the filibuster for one reason: Bipartisanship. Joe Manchin had total confidence in the Republican Party's moral compass. However, in a shocking turn of events, Republicans have now successfully filibustered the BIPARTISAN investigation into the January 6 attack on our country's Capitol.
McConnell made his choice clear: When forced between bipartisanship or his party's racist base -- he chose the latter. Manchin is the current lifeline for the filibuster, and he's close to killing it. If we don't act quickly, we could lose our only chance to rid the Senate of its biggest roadblock.
