Retiring Baby-boomers Own Half of Small Businesses in America

Nicholas Dowdell of Alabama

So what happens when those baby-boomers retire?

And what happens to the communities--employees, customers, vendors--if the retiring business owners shut down their businesses?

The tax base and prosperity of cities and counties depend on the vibrant commerce they can produce. The employees of one small business are the customers of another small business in that same county.

David Hincapie, Economic Development Specialist and Veteran Business Development Officer for the Washington Metro District of the SBA, and featured guest Project Equity, are hosting an event for local economic support officials and organizations to discuss business succession and its role in ensuring continued local prosperity.

We will also discuss how the SBA and its Small Business Development Centers can be part of your plan for your city or county. Register free below.
