I wanted to make sure you saw this important news in the fight to reduce carbon pollution and address climate change.

Last week, Big Oil suffered serious blows on multiple fronts. Here’s what happened:

- A Dutch court told Shell to cut its emissions 45% by 2030
- Chevron’s shareholders voted to demand the company cut its emissions
- Exxon shareholders elected two climate activists to the company’s board

In addition, Ford announced it would shift its production to 40% electric vehicles by 2030 in response to growing consumer demand.

Make no mistake, this action from investors, courts, and corporations like Ford is only possible thanks to the long sustained pressure from grassroots activists like you.

But Big Oil is not going to go down without a fight. We need to see action from Congress to reach our renewable energy goals and ramp up the fight against climate change before it’s too late.

This is one of the key challenges of our time. We can’t afford to drop the ball. Please consider pitching in today to help support our work to keep up the pressure for climate action and push back against whatever obstacles the fossil fuel lobby throws in our way:

As a young state legislator one of the first bills I passed was a state tax on gas-guzzlers. It was overthrown then by a Republican-controlled OMB. Since that time, we have made progress on advancing energy efficiency, but there is still a considerable distance to go if we are going to protect our planet and our children’s future.

President Biden’s infrastructure plan which is moving through Congress will help move America toward our goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. And my National Climate Bank proposal will spearhead crucial innovation by investing billions in clean energy resources.

Now is the time to take the bold action needed to put us solidly on a path to successfully tackle climate change.

So if you can, please consider chipping in to help us build our movement and keep leading the fight for climate action:
