The European Parliament votes June 7th on the Matic Report that, among other things, defines abortion as a "human right". The report attacks all pro-life laws of Europe, claiming that protecting human life from conception is "a form of gender-based violence”. It also interferes with the sovereignty of EU Member states, consistently calls for abortion without any limits, for radical sexual education, and for the abolition of conscientious objection protections for medical practitioners. CitizenGO needs your help to help save lives by countering international pro-abortion pressure on the European Parliament. We have to stop this culture of death! Write now to the undecided MEPs of the European People's Party (supposedly center-right) and ask them to reject the controversial report! SIGN THE PETITION |

Dear John,
I am writing to you about an important issue. It seems far away... but if we do nothing, international pro-abortion lobbies will sweep Europe to wipe away any existing restrictions on abortion and expand access more than ever before… and then do the same in the United States and the rest of the world. The Matic Report, which will be voted on in the European Parliament on June 7th, is the most aggressive attack on the lives of unborn babies ever seen from EU bodies. It seeks to define abortion as a “human right” and wipe out any limits imposed by individual member states! It will be used to promote and enforce abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy, for girls of all ages, without any parental consent, and paid by taxpayers’ money. The report attacks all pro-life laws of Europe, claiming that protecting life from conception is "a violation of human rights and a form of gender-based violence”, and urging the Member States “to remove and combat obstacles to legal abortion”. But as we know, there is no “human right” to abortion. Abortion is no more than one thing: the act of ending the life of an innocent and defenseless human being. Moreover, abortion has several negative consequences on women, too. In contradiction to the Matic Report, many countries still recognize these facts. No such right exists in any international treaty. And Matic Report is one more attempt to get an international recognition of abortion as a “human right”! But the European Parliament is under intense pressure from international groups to conform to the abortion agenda. CitizenGO needs your help to show them proof of a world-wide culture of life that is wholly opposed to abortion-on-demand and encourage them to reject the pro-abortion pressure. That is why we are writing to Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) to reject the report. We have identified some key undecided MEPs from Europe People’s Party (supposedly center-right), whose votes will determine whether the report is approved or rejected. With the aid of CitizenGO supporters like you, we will run battle-tested campaigns to put pressure on them to reject the Matic Report for going against the values of their voters.
Sign a petition to MEPs to reject the Matic Report that radically defines abortion as a “human right” and pushes to dissolve all limits.
But abortion is not the only contentious issue in this controversial report. Here is a summary of the highlights: - The Matic Report calls for the abolition of the right to conscientious objection of medical personnel. The Matic Report’s goal is to make it impossible for pro-life doctors to oppose killing a human being by abortion. According to the the report, denying abortion by a doctor would be “addressed as denial of medical care”. So if a doctor said NO to abortion, this would mean the end of his career.
- Abortion and contraception for girls “regardless of age” without parental consent.
- LGBT and Gender indoctrination from primary school without informing or requiring parental consent.
- Irreversible so-called “sex change” surgeries, including for minors all paid for by public health systems.
- Interference with the exclusive jurisdiction of the Member States over the definition and management of their domestic health systems or their national health policy choices.
The intellectual co-author of this pro-abortion attack is Neil Datta, executive director of the European Parliamentary Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Rights, who -- as our president, Ignacio Arsuaga, recently told you -- took advantage of a hearing in the European Parliament to discredit our work, slandering CitizenGO as “a danger to democracy”, illegally using documents stolen from Arsuaga’s hard drive and misrepresenting them. In this hearing, he harshly criticized the fact that CitizenGO had worked to stop previous similar reports such as Estrela or Lunacek Reports. Of course, it was only the action of many thousands of CitizenGO supporters like you that managed to stop those threats. But this one is even worse! Please help us to stop it:
Tell EPP MEPs: vote NO to the Matic Report and YES to respect for the right to life and the sovereignty of member states!
This is where the situation stands. The controversial Matic Report was already approved by The Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality of the European Parliament (FEMM) Women and Equality Committee with an absolute majority. Right now, for the plenary session, some groups are strongly against the controversial report, but others are enthusiastically in favor of it. The key to what happens on June 7th is with the European People’s Party, the largest party in the European Parliament and supposedly center-right, which is itself divided on the issue. So what we have done is to make a list of undecided EPP MEPs -- they hold the key to our being able to stop this abortion offensive! Please sign your petition to them now -- it is in their hands to stop radical abortion expansion in Europe!
Sign and tell EPP Members: abortion is not and cannot be a right; vote against the Matic Report. Sincerely, Gregory Mertz and the entire CitizenGO Team P.S. Please sign now to send a message to the undecided MPs of the EPP (center-right) and ask them to vote NO to abortion as a right Note: After the vote, we will list how all of the MEPs voted, so that you would know who supports the culture of life and who pushes the culture of death, killing of innocent babies.
