Will you join us tomorrow to show your support for this crucial reform?

Friend, we have a MAJOR opportunity to advance an important voting rights measure here in D.C.

Tomorrow, a D.C. Council committee will hold a public hearing on the Restore the Vote Amendment Act. This bill would make sure EVERY citizen of age in the District -- including those who are currently incarcerated -- has the right to vote.

By taking voting rights away from some incarcerated people, we create a class of citizens who are subject to D.C. and U.S. laws -- but have no say in how they're governed or who represents them. It’s time for that to change.

Will you join us at the hearing TOMORROW, October 10th to show your support for the Restore the Vote Amendment Act?

WHEN: Thursday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Room 500, John A. Wilson Building (1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20004)
RSVP: Click here to let us know you’ll be there!

Our mass incarceration system is silencing the communities most impacted by it. And that’s by design -- dating back to the Jim Crow era, felony disenfranchisement laws have been used to restrict Black people’s political power.

And in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

Here in D.C., we can fight back -- by making sure those who are incarcerated are not stripped of their voice in our democracy.

Hope to see you there,
