Hours later, President Biden took the podium to call on voting rights groups to redouble our efforts to register and educate voters, appointing Vice President Kamala Harris to lead the charge on voting rights and pushing Congress to pass the For The People Act.

Also, just this past Sunday, state legislators in Texas came this close to passing one of the most extreme voter suppression bills in the country -- but were stopped by courageous electeds who walked out on the vote in order to stop the bill from passing.

One of the most important pillars of a functioning democracy is fair and free elections. With your support, we can push for the support of the For the People Act, increase voter education, and stop voter suppression tactics in their tracks.

Our right to vote is not just being threatened in Texas but across the country. Over 400 voter suppression bills have been proposed in statehouses since the beginning of the year. In states like Georgia, Arizona, and Florida, bills have already been signed into law that will make it even harder for millions of people to make their voices heard.

After historic turnout in 2020, it is clear that these measures are a coordinated attack being used to decrease voter turnout, especially among people of color and minorities. When legislatures pass sweeping legislation that attacks our fundamental right to vote, they are directly attacking our democracy. John, this is not acceptable.
