In a letter to the Democratic Caucus, Senate Majority Leader Schumer said he plans to put the For the People Act up for a vote in June -- much earlier than we expected. Conservative lawmakers have been working around the clock to weaken the widespread support for this bill. We need to step up in this final stretch before the vote.

We’ve been working hard through our grassroots campaign to help pass the For the People Act -- and we’ve seen a steady increase in support for this bill.

Here’s what’s at stake when this bill goes to a vote: we’ll have the chance to finally outlaw partisan congressional gerrymandering. We’ll have the chance to expand and protect voting rights. We’ll have the chance to crack down on corruption in politics and get dark money out of our political system. We’ll have a chance to pass legislation that Schumer called essential to defending our democracy.

We must do everything in our power to gain the support of senators in key states who will be critical in deciding the fate of this bill. If we fail -- it’s going to make it much harder to stop conservative-controlled legislatures from deploying partisan gerrymandering in congressional districts across the country with ruthless precision.
