John,
As you may know, the Nebraska State Board of Education has proposed radical sex education standards for children as early as Kindergarten. These new standards teach five year olds about the concept of consent and First Graders would be expected to define gender identity.
Conservatives around the state have spoken up to voice their opposition to this attempt by the Left to take over health education in our public schools. Republican leaders around the state including Governor Ricketts have shared with us why this new curriculum is not fit for Nebraska. Additionally, the Nebraska Republican State Central Committee overwhelmingly voted to pass a resolution in opposition to these new health standards. Many other Nebraskans around the state have also been vocal about their disapproval of this new approach being taken by the state board of education. Also, Carol Friesen, the Lincoln County Republican Chair, recently shared her opinion on the matter in the North Platte Telegraph.
It’s time for all of us to step up and voice our opinions in opposition to this new and outrageous approach to teaching our children in Nebraska at our public schools. We have a very big opportunity to do just that this week. The State Board of Education will be meeting on June 4th at 9 AM to discuss this very matter. The meeting will take place at the Holiday Inn Conference Center at 110 2nd Avenue in Kearney.
Please consider attending the upcoming meeting. Your attendance helps ensure that Nebraska conservatives who oppose this radical approach to education have a voice.
Thank you for your dedication to protecting our children's future in the Nebraska Public Schools.
