Repeatedly voted to fund Trump's racist border wall,
Repeatedly voted to defund reproductive services for women,
Accepted $166,000 from Big Oil, $32,000 from private prison lobbyists, and $10,000 from the Koch brothers,

If you guessed Republican, you’re definitely not alone. Unfortunately, I’m talking about Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Democrat from Texas’ 28th District.

But here’s the good news: there is an incredible (and I mean INCREDIBLE) challenger ready to defeat Henry Cuellar here in Texas. Her name is Jessica Cisneros — a 26-year-old fearless Latinx woman running on an aspirational, progressive platform. And today, I’m proud to announce the Working Families Party is endorsing her.

This won’t be easy. Cuellar has already amassed endorsements from the corporate Democratic establishment and a huge war chest of money from billionaire donors. But we know Jessica Cisneros has what it takes to win.

Within a week of launching her campaign back in June, she had already raised more from small-dollar donors than Cuellar did in all of 2017 and 2018 combined.

Best of all, she’s doing all of this while running an unapologetically progressive campaign.

The daughter of migrant farm workers, Jessica is an immigration and human rights lawyer who is running to be a champion for working families. She’s fighting for a $15 minimum wage, getting big money out of politics, and Medicare for All. And she’s refusing to take ANY corporate PAC money.

This might seem like a big challenge. But as State Director for Texas WFP, I've already seen what's possible in our state when working people come together.

Since our founding less than two years ago, Texas WFP has already helped elect a wave of trailblazing progressive candidates across the state, from mayors to state legislators, that's shaking up politics as usual.
