As we enter summer 2021, we've got a lot on our activism agenda! Check out a few of our upcoming events, meetings, and volunteer opportunities below and GET IN!
Karishma Mehta's campaign is in the home stretch
Karishma's election is Tuesday, June 8th and she needs our help. Karishma is a progressive preschool teacher that wants to create a better Virginia for all. She will be hosting canvassing (weekends) and phonebanking (weekends and weekdays) so please help out if you can! If you don't have the time, PLEASE donate! With grassroot campaigns like this, every dollar counts!
Abolition Workshops + Mutual Aid Market with Total Liberation Collective
The first of the summer’s abolition workshops and mutual aid markets, hosted along with Total Liberation Collective, is this Sunday June 6th from 2-4 pm at Chuck Brown Park (Langdon Park)! The first workshop will discuss the history of policing and the origins of punishment. These workshops will be held every other Sunday - sign up here!
DefundMPD Mass Mobilization: Saturday, June 5th @ 2PM
You won't wanna miss #proj-defund-mpd hitting the streets as part of the coalition. The call to action has been months in the making so we want as many folks as possible to attend.
