Jack xxxxxx,
At 6 a.m. on Sunday morning, the Texas Senate approved Republican legislation to rewrite Texas election laws and make it harder for Texans to vote. Republicans tried to jam through their voter suppression bill in the dead of night.
To their surprise, Texas Democrats broke quorum by walking out of the House chamber and prevented the bill from passing before the deadline on Sunday night.
Add your name to thank House Democrats who did everything they could and successfully blocked extreme voter suppression legislation from going to Abbott's desk.
Shortly after SB7 failed, Governor Abbott announced he would call legislators back for a special session to try again. He even threatened to veto funding for lawmakers' salaries in the state budget.
It's clear Abbott is willing to double down in order to get his way. The fight to protect the vote isn't over and we're going to need your continued support.
Thank you,
Boot Texas Republicans
