Growing up in a multi-racial family in Odessa, Deborah learned the value of hard work and service from her public school teacher mother, which prompted her to go to college at 16 and excel as an executive at AT&T.

After serving as Chair of the Tarrant County Democratic Party for nearly a decade, Deborah presided over the biggest Democratic shift in any big Texas city.

Now she’s running for mayor to unite the city into One Fort Worth, and her win would make Fort Worth the largest city in the South run by a Black woman.
