John,
In just over one year of the pandemic, we’ve lost decades of progress for women.
More than 2 million women left the workforce in 2020, and even as men began gaining jobs at the end of the year, women lost jobs by the tens of thousands. The crisis continues to disproportionately impact Black, Indigenous, and Latina women.
With the security of women and families who depend on women in jeopardy, stagnant, business-as-usual politics simply aren’t going to cut it. That’s why, as NY-12’s Congresswoman, I'll fight to deliver safety, power, and representation for the people of New York — but to get there, I’m going to need your help.
I’m committed to fighting for justice for you and all the hardworking folks stretching to make ends meet.
Will you sign our petition to demand legislation that lifts the burden placed on women?

Even before the pandemic, women were already struggling to manage work and care. Reading this tweet from Senator Elizabeth Warren, my heart breaks for all the people who are struggling under the enormous weight of childcare costs, growing housing expenses, and an increased cost of living —all while receiving inadequate wages.
It’s past time for fair wages and a safe working environment. It’s past time for free universal child care. And it’s past time we provide funding for community resources for trans women of color, non-binary people, and members of the LGBTQ community who face disproportionate levels of housing insecurity.
I’m asking you today to add your name to pass legislation that lifts the burdens women face. Carolyn Maloney’s stale, moderate leadership might work for those at the top, but it doesn’t create meaningful change for those who are struggling.
If you’re able to take just a moment, could you sign our petition to show support for legislation that directly addresses the problems women face?

I know that together, we can make these bold changes a reality. To everyone taking the time to read this message, whether you’re able to add your name to this campaign or not: thank you for your endless support for our movement. I’m truly grateful.
Onwards,
