Last year, during the shutdown, Black businesses were left to fend for themselves. Excluded from the government’s business protections, 41% of Black-owned businesses were forced to close while large corporations raked in billions of federal dollars.1 Massive employers like sports arenas, fast food chains, and retail giants dropped thousands of Black workers without concern for their well-being at the height of the pandemic! With unemployment at its highest and stimulus checks delayed, new Black entrepreneurs were created in survival mode to keep food on the table for their families. Building a strong foundation is key to moving these businesses from surviving to thriving. That's why we're looking for more Black businesses across the country to join our Green Book. We’ll amplify them on our platform to direct more customers and opportunities to each business.

If you're a Black business owner or a supporter of Black businesses, we want to hear from YOU!

Simone I. Smith Jewelry and Color Of Change have come together with the “Black Love” jewelry collection, with a 10% of collection proceeds donated to Color Of Change. “The collection was inspired by the beauty of Black culture and our powerful future. “I designed it with freedom, unity and self-love in mind, symbolized by the shape of a fist,” said designer Simone I. Smith. “I partnered with Color Of Change because they fight for justice and equality in the name of love for Black people. This is why I named the collection ‘Black Love.’” The campaign visuals are the modern embodiment of the classic velvet paintings that lined the walls of Black family homes while Simone was growing up.
